CBC will retire the jersey of 3-time CBC Hockey champion Joe Vitale, who now plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL. Joe’s jersey will be retired at halftime of the CBC-SLUH football game this Friday Night at CBC.

McRae Visits Patients at Children’s Hospital
Blues forward Philip McRae visited patients at St. Louis Children’s Hospital on Tuesday, and Tim Fannon probably smiled more during that five-minute visit than he has in all of the last three weeks.
Fannon’s son, Sam, is suffering from a traumatic brain injury that occurred late on August 6, when the Mazda 6 he was driving on a windy road in Waterloo, IL flipped and rolled over several times. The accident injured Sam and all four of his passengers, one of which died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Cooke and Vitale on Journey to Haiti
This week, two current Penguins will be journeying to Haiti for a humanitarian trip of their own.
Forwards Matt Cooke and Joe Vitale are joining team chaplain Brad Henderson and former Penguins center Jordan Staal to visit projects in the nation’s capital, Port au Prince, that the Pittsburgh Kids Foundation is actively involved in. Henderson, who also works with the Pirates, serves as President of the Foundation.

When Mike McKenna reports to Blues Training Camp in September, he won’t need anyone to show him around town.
