Parks’ First Pro Shutout Leads Rivermen to 3-0 Win Friday in Evansville

The Peoria Rivermen got 23 saves from Tyler Parks and three goals in the final two periods to beat the Evansville Thunderbolts 3-0 at the Ford Center on Friday night. The win, Peoria’s first since December 2 at Columbus, comes before the Rivermen and Thunderbolts conclude their home-and-home series Saturday night in Peoria.

Rivermen sign goaltender Tyler Parks

The Peoria Rivermen signed goaltender Tyler Parks on Tuesday, as expected, after they released goaltender Troy Davenport the day before.

Parks began the season with expansion Evansville, and went 0-3-1 with a 3.47 goals-against and an .896 saves rate.

Lange’s winner ends FireAntz skid with 3-2 victory over Cottonmouths

After a road trip in which they suffered three losses in three days, the Fayetteville FireAntz needed something positive to happen to keep their Southern Professional Hockey League playoff hopes alive.

Tommy Lange made sure it did, rifling a shot past the Columbus goalie with less than three minutes to play as the FireAntz pulled out a 3-2 triumph at the Crown Coliseum on Tuesday evening.

Rivermen sign defenseman and goaltender

Moss, 25, won 16 games with Augusta last season and was one of the top goaltenders in the league, posting a 2.93 goals-against and .913 saves rate.

The Chesterfield, Mo., native played four seasons at St. Lawrence University, and the Rivermen made him the No. 1 pick overall in the SPHL Dispersal Draft earlier this summer.
