Kraemer is AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month
Ontario Reign forward Kyle Kraemer is the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for November after leading the league with a plus-minus rating of +14.
Kraemer was even or better in each of his 10 games in November, including a +5 on Nov. 24 against Bakersfield, tying the ECHL season-high, and a +3 on Nov. 10 at San Francisco.
Rested Goalie Gives K’s Lift With Shutout
Some goaltenders accustomed to starting almost every game might find it difficult to sit out four straight games.
They also might find it difficult to get their focus and timing back.
Charlie Effinger, apparently, is not among them. Effinger stopped 43 shots in the Komets’ 1-0 victory over the Gwinnett Gladiators before 7,207 fans Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.

Because it’s early in the season, the National Hockey League is in a lockout and more players are coming in daily, the Fort Wayne Komets’ dressing room needs some room to flex. It’s not big enough for everyone on the roster to fit inside, so a team gathering resembles a town hall meeting with players trying to squeeze in.
Komets brought best of the CHL to the ECHL
When the Komets came to the ECHL, they brought the best of the Central Hockey League with them.
The Komets signed CHL Most Valuable Player Brandon Marino and high-scoring forward Eric Giosa from Quad City, veteran defenseman and leader Tyler Butler and Missouri’s Charlie Effinger, who finished second in the CHL Goaltender of the Year voting. Butler was also the captain in Arizona.
Combs Re-Signs with Colorado
The Colorado Eagles announced today that forward Jack Combs has re-signed with the club.
The Eagles are the ECHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League and the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.
Thunder Lands Trio – Kyle O’Kane
The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, and head coach Matt Thomas announced today the team has agreed to terms with left wing Matt Bergland, defenseman Shawn Boutin (BOO-tan) and right wing Kyle O’Kane. Per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Jackals re-sign defenseman Jimmy Martin
The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have re-signed defenseman Jimmy Martin for the 2012-13 season.
Jimmy Martin “Jimmy is a competitor. His speed and quickness make him difficult to play against. He was a power play defenseman for us last year and will be again this year,” said Jackals head coach Pat Bingham.
