The Stampede set a franchise record for most penalty minutes in a game with 102 and a record for most combined penalty minutes of 208, all in front of a crowd of 4,511 at the Arena. The loss dropped the Stampede to 13-25-3 while Sioux City improved to 19-23-1 on the season.

The readings on the radar gun seemed a little low at first, so it was decided the guy holding it would move closer than his normal perch behind the glass next to the goal judge’s booth.
It’s a tad unnerving, to say the least, to sit on the ice directly behind the net and have hockey players blast away at you. Thank goodness for strong nylon and no peculiar ricochets off the end glass.

A tiny framed saying stands atop an old hockey puck in David Goodwin’s bedroom. Goodwin, 19, lives in Sergeant Bluff, about 12 hours from his home at St. Louis, Mo.
He’s a Sioux City Musketeer. Traded to Sioux City from the Green Bay Gamblers a few weeks ago. He and two Muskies reside with their “billet dad” Mike Barazia in Sergeant Bluff.
Lordo headed to Penn State next season

The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that captain defenseman Joseph Lordo has committed to Penn State University for the 2012-13 season. He becomes the 9th Stampede player to commit to a Division I school.

Dubuque Forward Commits to Clarkson University

The Dubuque Fighting Saints announced that forward T.J. Moor has committed to play collegiate hockey at Clarkson University next season.
“The coaches at Clarkson showed how much they wanted me,” Moor said. “They were very consistent, and helped me out through the NCAA process.
