With the extra attacker on and time winding down in the third period, Jake Walman made an athletic play at the offensive blue line and fired a puck toward the North Dakota goal that Nick Saracino tipped high past goaltender Zane McIntyre to tie the Providence College men’s hockey game at North Dakota, 2-2.
In the first Hockey East meeting between No. 9 Providence College and No. 20 Notre Dame, the teams skated to a 2-2 tie on Friday night at Schneider Arena (2,978). Sophomore Nick Saracino (St. Louis, Mo.) responded to a third period go-ahead goal by the Fighting Irish when he scored his sixth goal of the season at 13:49 of the third to even the score at 2-2.
Most recently, Saracino received an invite to New Jersey’s Development Camp, which begins today (July 15) at the AmeriHealth Pavilion at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

In the grand scheme of things, Nick Saracino is alive. He’s not playing hockey in that big rink in the sky.
That’s not meant to make light of the automobile accident the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders’ center was involved in two weeks ago. It was a bad one that could have been worse.
He has become the center of attention.
One little position change has allowed Nick Saracino to become one of the United States Hockey League’s better players. Actually, it was more significant than a little position change.
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Nick Saracino has committed to play hockey at Providence College following his USHL career.
The second-year USHL forward leads the RoughRiders with 10 points (2g, 8a) through eight games this season.
