The Calgary Flames Hockey Club announced today that they have signed defenceman John Ramage from the University of Wisconsin to an entry-level contract.
Ramage, a native of St. Louis, MO, was the Calgary Flames 4th round pick (103rd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and just finished his fourth and final season at the University of Wisconsin.
Badgers men’s hockey: John Ramage lauded by WCHA
University of Wisconsin defenseman John Ramage was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week after notching overtime goals in both games over the weekend against Minnesota State-Mankato.
Ramage, a senior captain, helped the Badgers extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games with their first-ever sweep at Mankato. UW has now won six straight games.

On February 17, the Badgers men’s hockey team will play its third outdoor game in the last eight seasons, when Wisconsin faces off with Minnesota in the Hockey City Classic at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Monday, Badgers defenseman John Ramage shows off the uniform Wisconsin will wear for the outdoor game. It’s a replica of the jersey Wisconsin wore back in the early 1930’s.
