The Central Hockey League announced today that St. Charles Chill defenseman Dan Weiss has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending December 15, 2013.

Walleye Sign 2 Defensemen from Niagara University
Niagara University defensemen Dan Weiss and CJ Chartrain have agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2013-14 season.
Weiss, a native of Ballwin, Missouri, spent the last four seasons playing for the Niagara Purple Eagles. While at Niagara, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman appeared in 125 games, netting seven goals and 25 assists to go along with 62 penalty minutes.
Dan Weiss Co-Winner of Niagara University’s CLAW Award
Co-captain Dan Weiss and Kevin Albers were the recipients of the CLAW Award, given annually to the player who earns the most “claws” during the season, by blocking shots and other selfless acts. Weiss, co-captain and a Second Team All-AHA honoree, and Albers logged extensive ice-time as the duo started in 31 of 38 contests, including 28 conference games.
