That out of the way, it does seem like something that’s plausible. Miller has said that if he’s leaving Buffalo he would like to be closer to California and his wife. Colorado is a heck of a lot closer than Upstate New York.

Avs’ Paul Stastny and Erik Johnson invited to U.S. Olympic camp with Seth Jones, Beau Bennett
Avalanche teammates Paul Stastny and Erik Johnson have been invited to next month’s U.S. Olympic team orientation camp, along with Colorado-raised defenseman Seth Jones and former University of Denver winger Beau Bennett of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Stastny and Johnson helped the Americans win the silver medal at the 2010 Vancouver Games, and were members of the bronze-medal winning U.S. squad at the World Championship last spring.
Blackhawks’ Bollig Bringing Stanley Cup to St. Peters
Brandon Bollig, who got his career started playing hockey at the facility, tweeted the Cup would be at the St. Peters Rec-Plex South from 4:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 31.

Islanders’ Prospects Drill, Then Dazzle At The Coliseum
Defensively, Scott Mayfield was the best player on the ice at any given moment. He was steady, physical (when he needed to be) and smooth in transition. Mayfield isn’t quite there yet in terms of being NHL-ready, but he’s oh-so-close. I asked Mayfield for a quick status report: “I feel like I’ve gotten better every year, I’ve gotten bigger. Those six games in Bridgeport helped me see where I was at.”
McRae leaves Blues to play in Finland
St. Louis native Philip McRae is leaving the Blues to play for Tappara Tampere in the Finnish Elite League.
McRae, 23, played 15 games for the Blues in 2010-11, collecting one goal and two assists. The son of former Blues winger Basil McRae, he played three seasons with the Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League, scoring 32 goals and 41 assists in 162 games, including seven goals and 11 assists in 45 games last season.
Devils signed Rod Pelley, Cam Janssen to minor league contracts
Janssen, 29, spent most of last season at Albany (AHL). In four NHL games for the Devils he had no points with two penalty minutes.
The popular Janssen, a native of St. Louis, has one goal and one assist in 147 career games with the Devils. He also has 282 PIM.
