Hockey players are known for many things, not the least of which is their hair. From the days of Brett Hull and Mike Ricci to the more modern-day Scott Hartnell and Patrick Kane, it’s become common to see hair poking out from the bottom of players’ helmets. The NAHL has even paired with Gongshow Hockey to bring fans the “Flow of the Month,” awarded to the player with the league’s best ‘do. It’s becoming increasingly more likely that no member of the Texas Tornado wins the award this year, in one of the more moving displays of team solidarity you can find.

Dakota Mermis – Team McClanahan Beats Team Housley, 5-2, in Inaugural CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game

Team McClanahan bested Team Housley, 5-2, in the inaugural CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game Saturday (Sept. 29) at the First Niagara Center. Ryan Fitzgerald (North Reading, Mass.) notched three assists for Team McClanahan and received MVP honors. Meanwhile, Evan Allen (Sterling Heights, Mich.) scored both of Team Housley’s goals.
Goodwin catalyst for Musketeers’ offense

David Goodwin’s hockey sense told him an opponent was in trouble and a teammate was ready to take advantage.
Late in the first period of Saturday night’s 5-2 exhibition loss to Omaha at the United States Hockey League’s Fall Classic, Goodwin intercepted a loose pass. Spotting his Sioux City Musketeers roommate Conor McGlynn near the goal, the 5-10, 180-pound third-year playmaking center flicked a crisp pass and the 6-2, 190-pound McGlynn buried it past stunned All-USHL goaltender Alex Lyon.
2012-13 NTDP Under-17 Team Roster, Schedule Announced

USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, which enters its 16th year on ice in 2012-13, today announced the roster and schedule for its U.S. National Under-17 Team. The squad, comprised of some of the top American-born players in the 1996 birth year, will compete against teams from the United States Hockey League in addition to taking part in three international competitions during the course of the season.
CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game Roster Announced

USA Hockey announced today the 40 players who will participate in the inaugural CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, which will take place Sept. 29 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
The roster boasts 40 of the top American prospects eligible for the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Represented are 31 players from the United States Hockey League, the top junior league in America, including 22 from USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich. Additionally, at least 28 of the 40 are future NCAA Division I college players.

USHL Items Heading to Hockey Hall of Fame

The stick used by goaltender Ryan McKay in the 5-2 victory on Wednesday, May 23rd over the Waterloo Black Hawks and the jersey worn by Gamblers defenseman Kyle Chatham in Game Five will be on display. Chatham’s number “12” jersey further complements the championship achieved in the year 2012.

Lancers Land 13 Players in 2012 USHL Entry Draft – Connor Chatham

With the 39th overall selection, Omaha tabbed forward Connor Chatham out of Belleville, Illinois. A 6’2”, 185 pound forward, Chatham spent last season with the U.S. National Team Development Program’s Under-17 team where he notched seven goals, 13 assists and 20 points in 55 games.
