Nick Saracino Named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Co-Rookie of the Week

Freshman forward Nick Saracino (St. Louis, Mo.) was named the Hockey East Association’s Pro Ambitions Co-Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Saracino netted the game-tying goal with 11 seconds to play against second ranked Boston College at a sold out Schneider Arena on Friday night.

Saracino’s first-career goal helps Providence tie No. 2 Boston College

After trailing for almost the entire game against second-ranked Boston College, freshman Nick Saracino scored his first career goal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 3-3 and send it to overtime. Neither team could find the back of the net in the five minute OT as the game ended in 3-3 tie in front of a sellout crowd at Schneider Arena on Friday night.

Wisconsin holds on to beat Denver 3-1; Ramage scores goal with 9 seconds left in game

Wisconsin scored twice in the first period and held on to beat fifth-ranked Denver 3-1 Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

John Ramage added a short-handed empty-net goal with 9 seconds left in the game to ice it.

Brett Gensler a force for Bentley hockey team

When Brett Gensler was a freshman at Bentley, he tied for second on the team in scoring with 24 points, just 2 fewer than senior Erik Peterson. But that was just the beginning.

Last year was a breakout campaign for the St. Charles, Mo., native. He more than doubled his offensive output with 50 points in 40 games.

Michael Huntebrinker – Maverick hockey team inks four recruits

Less than two months after Mike Hastings was named Minnesota State’s new men’s hockey coach, he got his first commitment from a recruit.

On Wednesday, that player, forward Mike Huntebrinker of the United States Hockey League’s Waterloo Blackhawks, and three others signed National Letters of Intent to join the Mavericks next season. Wednesday was the first day of the NCAA’s week-long early signing period.
