After trailing for almost the entire game against second-ranked Boston College, freshman Nick Saracino scored his first career goal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 3-3 and send it to overtime. Neither team could find the back of the net in the five minute OT as the game ended in 3-3 tie in front of a sellout crowd at Schneider Arena on Friday night.

Less than two months after Mike Hastings was named Minnesota State’s new men’s hockey coach, he got his first commitment from a recruit.
On Wednesday, that player, forward Mike Huntebrinker of the United States Hockey League’s Waterloo Blackhawks, and three others signed National Letters of Intent to join the Mavericks next season. Wednesday was the first day of the NCAA’s week-long early signing period.
Dominic Zombo – UNO Athlete of the Week

Dominic Zombo scored his first two goals of the season and added three assists in the Mavericks’ sweep of #20 Minnesota Duluth last weekend. Zombo had a pair of helpers on Friday including the primary assist on Michael Young’s game-winning goal in Saturday’s 3-2 win. On Sunday, he scored his first two goals of the year, including the game winner, in a 6-3 win over UMD to help the Mavericks run their win streak to four games. Zombo finished the weekend +3 with two shot blocks.
Wideman pulls Miami into stalemate with Northern Michigan; RedHawks win shootout

Miami and Northern Michigan skated to a 2-2 draw Saturday night, but the RedHawks took an extra point in the CCHA standings by virtue of a 2-0 shootout win.
