Islanders Recall Mayfield and Sundstrom
The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Scott Mayfield and forward Johan Sundstrom have been recalled under emergency conditions from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
Mayfield, 21, has 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in 69 games with the Sound Tigers this season. The St. Louis, MO, native leads all active Sound Tigers defensemen in scoring and is third overall on the team in penalty minutes with 125.

Mayfield Makes The Jump
Islanders prospect Scott Mayfield is one step closer to fulfilling his lifelong dream of playing in the NHL. The Islanders announced Friday that Mayfield had agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level deal, and will begin his professional career this week with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Mayfield More Mature Heading Into Second Camp
Selected 34th overall by the Islanders in 2011, Scott Mayfield is excited that camp is underway for he and his fellow prospects.
“It’s really nice to get out here to see the guys again and see all the new draft picks and everything,” Mayfield said.
