Ordinarily, it would be absurd to suggest the Pioneers could improve with a 5-foot-8, 164-pound freshman defenseman, but that’s exactly how coach Jim Montgomery feels about Michael Davies.

Hawks Secure Michael Davies
In 2014/15, Davies spent his first season in the league, appearing in 52 of 60 regular season games. The 5-8, 158-pound St. Louis native notched four goals and ten assists. With a +10 plus/minus differential, Davies ranked third among Dubuque defensemen. He appeared in four of the Saints’ postseason contests with a +2 mark. Davies is committed to Ohio State University.

USA Hockey today announced the 20-player roster for the U.S. Under-17 Select Team that will compete in the 2013 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament Aug. 14-18 in Trnava, Slovakia.
Saints Phase 1 Entry Draft Results
In the second round, 30th overall, Dubuque took blueliner Michael Davies from Kirkwood, Missouri. Davies is 5-foot-8 and 155 lbs. and played for the St. Louis Blues U16 team this past season. One of the top puck moving defensemen for his age, Davies scored six goals and added 24 assists for 30 points this past season in only 38 games.
