Senior defenseman Chris Saracino (St. Louis, MO/Green Bay Gamblers) of the RIT men’s hockey team, was named to the 2012-13 Atlantic Hockey Association First Team on Tuesday, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon. Saracino was also a All-AHA second team selection in 2011.
Monday afternoon, when the RIT men’s hockey team wrapped up practice at Ritter Arena, senior defenseman and captain Chris Saracino didn’t know what to do with himself.He faced the same dilemma on Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday, and admittedly, he liked it.
Chris Saracino, an RIT senior defenseman who has seen much in his four years with the Tigers, likes the view much better this time around than last.
Head Coach Wayne Wilson and the RIT men’s hockey team have announced its captains for the 2012-13 season. Senior defenseman Chris Saracino (St. Louis, MO) will captain the Tigers for the second straight season, while senior forward Adam Hartley (West Vancouver, British Columbia) and sophomore forward Matt Garbowsky (St. George, Ontario/St. John’s Collegiate) will serve as assistant captains. RIT enters its seventh season in the Atlantic Hockey Association and eighth as a Division I program.
Junior defenseman Chris Saracino (St. Louis, MO) and senior goaltender Shane Madolora (Salinas, CA) of the RIT men’s hockey team were named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player and Goaltender of the Week respectively, for the week ending Jan. 1, 2012.
