During his four-year tenure at Bentley, Brett Gensler was the go-to guy on offense.
He racked up 167 points in 145 games, an average of 1.15 per contest. He was the face of the Falcons and received many accolades, given that he set the Atlantic Hockey record for career points and the school’s Division 1 record for points and goals (73).
The South Carolina Stingrays have signed forward Brett Gensler, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced.
The Stingrays are the ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

The Atlantic Hockey Association and its coaches have chosen the All-Conference Teams for the 2012-13 regular season. All student-athletes were nominated by their own coaches and voted on by the remaining 11 coaches.
Well, this is all a very roundabout way of coming around to Brett Gensler from Bentley. When this season’s Hobey Watch Blog started, it was Gensler, not Johnny Gaudreau, who had the highest points-per-game average in the country (although Gaudreau is now blowing away the field with 1.72 PPG), and at present, he’s third with 12 goals and 19 points in 21 games (1.48 PPG, a shade behind Nebraska-Omaha’s Ryan Walters’ 1.50).
It comes as no surprise that Bentley’s Brett Gensler has become a target of opposing defensive schemes. The bull’s eye has been affixed since last year when Gensler burst upon the scene, scoring 23 goals and adding 27 assists.
Two former RoughRiders are tied on top of the NCAA Division 1 scoring race this season with 21 points. Kyle Flanagan a senior at St. Lawrence (ECAC) continues his outstanding career and Brent Gensler a junior at Bently (Atlantic Hockey) continues to build upon his 50 point season last year for the Falcons.
