Warning named Sher-Wood Hockey/ECHL Player of the Week

The 24-year-old tallied two goals – including the game-winner – in a 4-2 win at Cincinnati on Wednesday, scored one goal in a 4-3 shootout win over over Indy on Friday and recorded three assists in a 6-2 victory at Fort Wayne on Saturday.

Warning’s shot wins it for Mallards

Those two minutes were added to on a double minor high-sticking call in the second. But Warning helped rally the Mallards. He scored a go-ahead goal in the third that was eventually matched, but then fired in the game-ending mark, after Alex Petan buried QC’s first shootout chance, in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Indy Fuel at the iWireless Center.

Wideman named Sher-Wood Hockey/ECHL Player of the Week

Wideman scored four goals, added three assists and was  +7 last week, helping the Fuel to a 3-0-0 record.

The 24-year-old tallied a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win over Wheeling on Friday and in a 4-3 victory against Atlanta on Saturday before notching three points (2g-1a) in a 6-5 win over the Gladiators on Sunday.

Mavericks set final roster for opening weekend

The lone exception was Tyler Elbrecht, a defenseman from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. He joins the team following a late trade for future considerations.

“He’s a nice addition to our defense,” Dickson said. “He’s a shutdown guy who will have a presence out on the ice. He might get into 10 or 12 fights a year – a tough player, but a guy who can skate and really play defense.”
