The St. Charles Chill professional hockey club announced Tuesday the Central Hockey League (CHL) club has signed forward Kyle O’Kane and goaltender Kevin McFarland. The signings bring the total number of players signed by the Chill to five and all five players are local to the greater St. Louis area.

Mallards make moves
The Quad-City Mallards made several moves Monday, signing goaltender Jimmy Spratt and bringing back defenseman Bob Preece from last year’s squad.
In addition, the Mallards placed forward Jason Kostadine and Jared Lavender on injured reserve, while goaltender Joe Palmer left the Mallards to pursue a career outside of hockey.

CHL Welcomes St. Charles County for 2013-14 Season
The CHL announced on Tuesday that the Laredo Bucks franchise rights have been transferred to the market of St. Charles County in Missouri and that the new franchise will compete in the CHL beginning with the 2013-14 season and will be called the Chill. The announcement was made on Wednesday at a press conference at the Arena Club Restaurant in The Family Arena.
