McKenna, the CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for November, was 4-1-0 with a 1.16 goals-against average, a .950 save percentage and two shutouts last month, stopping 114 of the 120 shots he faced as well as eight of 10 shootout attempts.

Forwards Andre Petersson and David Dziurzynski and defenseman Chris Wideman were all described as “day-to-day” by play-by-play man Grady Whittenburg on the B-Sens radio broadcast and said coach Luke Richardson expects them all to be fine for next weekend’s games.
Wideman led the team with five points (0 goals, 5 assists) entering Sunday and Peterson had four points (2-2). Forward Mark Stone continues to recover from a shoulder injury and defenseman Ben Blood was a healthy scratch.

Checkers Sign Dolan, Deckert

Dolan, a 25-year-old who initially joined the team on a professional tryout contract in January of 2012, returns for this third season with Charlotte and third on an AHL deal. With the likes of Riley Nash, Brett Sutter and Jeremy Welsh hoping to move on to full-time roles in Carolina after playing the majority of last season in Charlotte, Dolan’s return will add important depth at the center position.
