USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, which enters its 16th year on ice in 2012-13, today announced the roster and schedule for its U.S. National Under-17 Team. The squad, comprised of some of the top American-born players in the 1996 birth year, will compete against teams from the United States Hockey League in addition to taking part in three international competitions during the course of the season.
USA Hockey announced today the 40 players who will participate in the inaugural CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, which will take place Sept. 29 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
The roster boasts 40 of the top American prospects eligible for the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Represented are 31 players from the United States Hockey League, the top junior league in America, including 22 from USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich. Additionally, at least 28 of the 40 are future NCAA Division I college players.
The stick used by goaltender Ryan McKay in the 5-2 victory on Wednesday, May 23rd over the Waterloo Black Hawks and the jersey worn by Gamblers defenseman Kyle Chatham in Game Five will be on display. Chatham’s number “12” jersey further complements the championship achieved in the year 2012.
The RoughRiders selected five forwards, five defenseman and a goalie in today’s USHL Entry Draft.
Tryout Camp is June 7-10th with the Green-White Game on Saturday Night – June 9th. The entire camp will be held at The Stable.
With the 39th overall selection, Omaha tabbed forward Connor Chatham out of Belleville, Illinois. A 6’2”, 185 pound forward, Chatham spent last season with the U.S. National Team Development Program’s Under-17 team where he notched seven goals, 13 assists and 20 points in 55 games.
Green Bay Gamblers assistant coach Jon Rogger has been hired as the new head coach of the Des Moines Buccaneers, Gamblers coach Derek Lalonde confirmed Thursday.
The Des Moines Buccaneers selected six players as part of the United States Hockey League’s annual Future’s Draft held on Tuesday night. Only those players with a 1996 birth year were eligible in this season’s draft.
The Sioux City Musketeers made five selections in the 2012 United States Hockey League (USHL) Futures Draft. This year’s draft was made up of 1996 born players.
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL announced the signing of Paul O’Connor and Chris Birdsall to tenders adding the defenseman and goalie to the RoughRiders 2012-13 roster.
