Novak’s three goals helped the Green Bay Gamblers post a 5-1 victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Resch Center on Friday night.

Michigan’s Gorsuch stymies ’Hawks
It might be easy to say the last-place Michigan Warriors have the Johnstown Tomahawks’ number this season.
Then again, Warriors goaltender Trevor Gorsuch had much more to do with his team’s 3-1 victory over Johnstown than luck or fate did on Friday night.
Tornado Make Roster Tweaks – AJ Duggan
Filling his roster spot will be AJ Duggan, a forward out of Chesterfield, Mo. Duggan was selected by the Tornado in the sixth round of the 2012 NAHL Entry Draft, but opted for the USHL instead. He played in one preseason game with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, but injuries have kept him sidelined for most of the season.
Trey Dodd Tenders with Austin Bruins of the NAHL
St. Louis Jr. Blues forward Trey Dodd has signed a tender with the Austin Bruins of the NAHL. Dodd, one of the few 1996 birth year players in the NA3HL, committed to the Bruins earlier this week.
Clarke scores winner as the Battalion end winless streak
Blake Clarke scored the eventual winner at 4:38 of the third period as the Brampton Battalion came from behind to beat the visiting Sudbury Wolves 2-1 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Gorsuch Name NAHL North Division Player of the Week
It was quite a week for the Michigan Warriors and 18-year-old goaltender Trevor Gorsuch. The Warriors posted five wins last week, all with Gorsuch (6’2/205) in goal and now find themselves just a point out of 7th place and three points out of a playoff spot in the North Division.

Dakota Mermis readily admits the last few days have been a whirlwind.
Travelling from Denver to St. Louis to London, meeting his new teammates with the London Knights, getting settled in and skating a couple of times at the Budweiser Gardens. Oh, and playing in his first Ontario Hockey League game Friday night on the eve of his 19th birthday.
OHL Names Clarke Month’s Top Rookie
Blake Clarke of the Brampton Battalion is the Ontario Hockey League’s rookie of the month for December, the league announced Friday.
“It’s a huge honour,” said left winger Clarke. “Obviously, to be recognized that way is huge for me and my confidence.”
USHL Highlights: Kyle Novak Does it Twice
Green Bay Gamblers forward Kyle Novak displayed some outstanding stick on December 1st to scored a shorthanded goal against Indiana. Just four weeks later, he showcased a similar move in a victory over Chicago on December 28th.

Knights Sign Mermis To OHL Contract
General Manager Mark Hunter announced today that the team has signed defenseman Dakota Mermis to an Ontario Hockey League contract. Mermis, a 12th round pick of the London Knights in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, spent the first part of this season at the University of Denver. He was also a part of the USHL’s 2011-2012 Green Bay Gamblers who went on to win the Clark Cup last season. London Knights forward Alex Broadhurst was also a member of that championship team. Mermis will wear #44 for the London Knights.
