MacInnis earns invite to U.S. camp
Kitchener Rangers forward Ryan MacInnis is one of 42 players invited to USA Hockey’s summer evaluation camp for the world junior championships.
MacInnis, 18, is coming off a solid rookie season in the OHL in which he finished tied for third in team scoring with 37 points in 66 games.
When One Door Closes, Jincy Dunne Opens Another
It didn’t produce the desired result, but Jincy Dunne called her time with the U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team a great learning experience.
The 16-year-old Dunne, a native of O’Fallon, Mo., was named to the 25-player U.S. team in June but ultimately didn’t make the final 21-player Olympic roster, ending her bid to compete in Sochi, Russia, as the youngest U.S. Olympic women’s hockey player ever.
Under-17 Team Claims World U17 Challenge Title
Michael Lackey finished the tournament ranked first in both goals-against average (0.75) and save percentage (.958). Teammate Luke Opilka (St. Louis, Mo.) registered a 1.00 GAA (tied for second) and .927 save percentage (sixth).
Team USA Advances to Title Game at World U17 Challenge
Colin White (Hanover, Mass.) and Matthew Tkachuk (St. Louis, Mo.) scored two goals and added one assist each, as the U.S. Men’s National Under-17 Team defeated Canada’s Team Quebec, 9-1, here tonight at Centre 200 in semifinal action at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. With the win, Team USA advances to the title game tomorrow at 4 p.m. EST.

USA Hockey today announced the 22-player roster for the U.S. Men’s National Under-17 Team that will compete in the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge Dec. 28, 2013 – Jan. 4, 2014, in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Also included on the roster are five alumni of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, including forwards Chad Kolarik (Abington, Pa./University of Michigan), Phil McRae (Minneapolis, Minn.), Peter Mueller (Bloomington, Minn.), and Rhett Rakhshani (Huntington Beach, Calif./University of Denver); and goaltender Jeff Frazee (Edina, Minn./University of Minnesota).

Butler & Stastny – USHL Alumni Shine at World Championship
The 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Hockey World Championship concluded over the weekend in Finland and Sweden, and the United States took home the Bronze medal following a 3-2 win over Finland on Sunday. The success of the U.S. at the tournament was due in large part to a number of USHL alumni that decorated the roster.
Paul Stastny leads the way in US ice-hockey rout
Stockholm: Team captain Paul Stastny scored two goals and assisted on two more as the United States hammered Russia 8-3 to dump the defending champions out of the ice hockey world championships in Helsinki on Thursday.
