Jincy Dunne: No Typical Teenager

Like many other teenage drivers, Jincy Dunne is still learning the finer points of operating a vehicle.

“My parents were a little nervous about me driving in Boston, but I’m getting better,” the 16-year-old said.

Unlike many other teenagers, Dunne was recently followed by a film crew from Nickelodeon. That’s because she is vying for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Women’s Team that will compete in the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games in February.

Women’s Hockey Adds Samantha Ullrich To Coaching Staff

Lindenwood women’s hockey head coach Vince O’Mara announced today that Samantha Ullrich has been hired to fill out the Lady Lions’ coaching staff for the 2013-14 season.

Ullrich brings four years of College Hockey America (CHA) experience to Lindenwood after being a four-year letterwinner at Robert Morris from 2005-09. She was a defenseman for the Colonials and played in 130 games in her career. She had five goals and 32 assists over her four seasons at Robert Morris, and she helped the program improve its record all four years that she was on the roster.

Jincy Dunne Named to the 2013-2014 USA Hockey Womens National Team

Of the 25 players, 12 have previously represented the U.S. in the Olympic Winter Games, including three-time Olympian Julie Chu (Fairfield, Conn.). Members of the team range in age from 16-31, with Jincy Dunne (O’Fallon, Mo.) the youngest player and Chu the oldest. In total, the rostered players have represented the U.S. in 1,384 games in international competitions between 1999 and 2013.

Earlier this month, 15-year-old Jincy Dunne took a spill while playing with the boys high school team at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis. While cutting across the ice in a game, she collided with another player and sustained a concussion, forcing her off the ice.
