Sophomore Jack Berger of the Princeton men’s hockey team has been named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week for the Week of Dec. 6.
A native of St. Louis, Mo., Berger had a five-point week with four goals and an assist as Princeton defeated Rensselaer 5-3 and tied No. 9 Union, 3-3.
Denver has signed three players to national letters of intent to play for the Pioneers in 2012-13. They are forward Quentin Shore of Denver, Colo., and defensemen Nolan Zajac of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Dakota Mermis of Alton, Ill.
Bentley hockey coach Ryan Soderquist knew his way around enemy nets as a player, setting still-standing school marks for points (173) and goals (84) for the Falcons. Nowadays, the 10th-year coach has a built-in comfort zone every time he sends burgeoning sniper Brett Gensler over the boards.
